       several people accidentally unsubscribed themselves from the notify list so i put in a 'confirm remove' button they have to click to before the actual remove code gets fired.

       added tags to my journal entries which you can click on and see other journal posts that are related. like say iPhone. pretty slick, even if i do say so myself. it was actually pretty easy to add in.

       finished the about page, for now. you know me, nothing on this site is ever really finished. i used a nice little script called lightbox 2 for the larger image pop-up thingy.

       well i'm nearing the completion point. only thing i really haven't even scoped yet is the photo log. not sure how i wanna do that yet. i may end up combining it with my personal photo gallery and some sort of hybrid. some photos/sets will be public and others will be accessable thru a password. i just need to sit down and come up with a decent interface for it.
       anyways, here's the feature set so far:

• journal
  • with embedded mp3 on some entries, buy link, and download link.
  • the ability to execute ASP code inside the entry itself. if you know anything about geeky web stuff, you know how hard that is to do.
  • specific entries can only be viewed with a password.
  • sidebar for little tidbits of stuff.
  • full commenting, with captcha.
    • can turn off comments for a specific entry.
    • remembers your info.
    • can send you an email when someone else leaves a comment.
    • marks comments made by me in red.
  • full archives
    • view by an entire month.
    • move back in forth thru the available months.
  • notify list
    • easy sign up, with captcha.
    • sends confirmation email with unique link.
    • easy unsubscribe from link in emails.
• contact
  • also has the captcha.
  • sends me an email.
• about me page.
• site notes. this page for all the little geeky stuff.
• polling
  • saves your answer to the database.
  • does nifty percentage bar graph.
  • cookie remember if you have answered the poll already.
• admin area
  • add/edit journal entries
  • editing or removing comments.
  • pings my twitter feed with a link to newest entry.
  • add/edit polls
  • send message to notify list.
  • other things...

       well the coding has started. well i guess technically re-started, truth be told. i actually started this design one year ago but never finished it, but i had the hankering to start up the journal and photo log again and since this one was already half written, i'm going to go ahead and finish it. i'm hoping to launch by the 13^th but i may not have everything completed by then.
